- Large Landowners - Vellalar
- Ordinary Ploughmen - Uzhavar
- Landless labourers including slaves - Kadaisiyar and Adimai
- Village headman - Grama Bhojaka
- Independent farmers (Small Landowners) - Grihapatis
- Muvendar - Three Chiefs
- Maha-danda-nayaka - Chief Judicial Officer
- Kumar-amatya - Important Minister
- Sandhi-vigrahika - Minister of War and Peace
- Nagarashreshthi - Chief Banker or Merchant of the City
- Sarthavaha - Leader of the Merchant Caravans
- Prathama-kulika - The Chief Craftsman
- Sabha - Assembly of Brahmin landowners
- Kayasthas - Scribes
- Ur - Village Assembly ( Landowners were not Brahmins)
- Nagaram - Organisation of Merchants
